Are you testing learn or to prove you were right?

This happens a lot in marketing and possibly other industries too. Testing. The most diplomatic thing to do is to suggest a test and it seems logical. However, there are times when someone knows what result is going to occur and there are others times when a test is requested because someone just wants to know for themselves. This can come from inexperience in a given space.

If you’re lucky enough to know best, you need to speak up. If you don’t know and someone has the answer, you need to decide if you trust them. If you do know and test anyway, you tested to prove you were right and you were scared to say you knew.

This is always a waste of energy.

If you know something and still test, it, what did you learn? Changes are you had a communication or trust issue instead so how can you test that instead?
